Our testers love the modern look and thoughtful features of this fan, including a timer and nighttime mode. It’s also easy to change settings with the LED display and a remote.

The head of this pedestal fan tilts up to an angle of about 90 degrees. It’s easy to adjust the height without needing tools, as it simply twists and clicks into place.

Lasko Fans Review

It’s very quiet, registering just 26 dB on our decibel testing instruments, and it has several convenient extras such as remote control storage, a programmable timer, and a nighttime mode. Plus, it’s easy to transport due to its lightweight design and built-in handle.

2. Lasko 20″ High Velocity QuickMount Review

Unlike most tower fans, this model’s base and fan body are encased in one shell. This adds stability between them and makes the fan less likely to tip over. Grippy rubber feet on the base further contribute to this model’s sturdiness.

Despite its size, this model is among the quietest we tested. Its lowest setting barely registered on our decibel meter, and the higher settings emit a lower-pitched mechanical hum that fades into the background far better than the prop-plane-like thrum heard on other models.

Besides its sturdiness, this fan’s other notable features include a nighttime mode that gradually decreases the fan speed over time, and a timer that shuts the fan off after a designated period of time. It also boasts three powerful speeds and a pivoting head that can angle up or down. For even more convenience, this model converts easily from floor to wall mount. The included bracket attaches to the bottom of the fan’s base, and clips into the mount.

3. Lasko FH500 Review

The Lasko FH500 is a great option for anyone who wants the ability to use their tower fan as both a heater and a cooling fan. It’s also a great option for people looking to save on energy costs as it has a programmable timer and a nighttime setting that lowers the fan speed and dims the control panel lights for sleeping.

Our testers were impressed by this fan’s sleek design and thoughtful features. They particularly liked how it remembers the last fan speed used, emits no obnoxious beeps when changing settings, and offers a variety of timer options. The unit is also incredibly lightweight and easy to carry from room to room. Adjusting its height is simple by twisting the joint on the base and loosening it vertically, then locking it into place with a tightened turn of the joint. In addition, the head pivots to tilt upward, allowing the user to direct the flow of air towards the desired area.

4. Lasko Oscillating High Velocity Review

The Lasko Oscillating High Velocity packs a lot of power into its compact frame. It boasts a hefty motor and blade that generates strong airflow, with three powerhouse speeds. Plus, it can be controlled via a remote. It’s also one of the loudest fans we tested, topping out at 35 dB on its highest setting.

However, it’s far from the only noisy model we tested. The Vornado 660 Large and the B-Air FIRTANA-20X both registered at around 30 dB on their high settings.

When it comes to low speeds, the Oscillating High Velocity is a bit quieter than average, though not significantly. And when it’s time to sleep, the Oscillating High Velocity features a nighttime mode that slowly decreases its speed over the course of an hour, so you can drift off without worrying about your electricity bill. It’s also the most portable of our wire-framed tower fans, weighing only 11.5 pounds. And it’s backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
