Amazon Fire Max 11 Review: Elevate Your Digital Experience with Enhanced Performance and Cutting-Edge Features
Amazon is releasing its most powerful tablet yet today, the Fire Max 11. It’s got an 11-inch 2000×1200 low blue light screen, 4GB of RAM and a 2.2GHz octa-core processor.
That makes it almost 50% faster than Amazon’s next fastest tablet, the company promises. It also supports USI 2.0 stylus options and has a fingerprint reader built into the power button.
Display
Amazon is taking its Fire tablet lineup to the next level with the aptly named Max 11. It’s available now for preorder, and it will start shipping next month. The new tablet comes with a bigger, more advanced display and some upgrades in the internals.
The Max 11’s 11-inch screen has a resolution of 2000×1200 and is backed by a MediaTek octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 64GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD cards.
Amazon is putting the emphasis on productivity with this launch, offering up a keyboard folio and stylus accessory to help you get stuff done. The Keyboard Case adds 15 shortcut keys and a trackpad with suite of gesture controls, and it magnetically connects to the tablet.
Processor
The new tablet also gets a big boost in optics, jumping from 5-megapixel cameras on the step-down Fire HD 10 to 8-megapixel front and rear cameras. It runs on the latest version of Amazon’s Fire OS, which doesn’t give it access to the Google Play Store, but has a large selection of apps and integration with Alexa and other Amazon services.
Inside, the Fire Max 11 has a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek chip and 4GB of RAM that the company claims is 50% faster than its previous fastest tablet. It has a USB-C port and a 9W power adapter in the box, and it supports fast charging at 15W. It also has a fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, and a microSD expansion slot for up to 1TB of storage.
Battery
With a promised 14 hours of battery life, the Fire Max 11 is the most powerful tablet Amazon has ever made. It’s also the first to feature a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, and it comes with a productivity bundle that lets you pair it with a keyboard case for work-related tasks.
The tablet uses a new 2000 x 1200 low blue-light display and a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor for better streaming, gaming, and app switching performance. It also comes with 64 or 128GB of storage and supports Dolby Atmos for immersive surround sound when watching movies.
Its thin and durable aluminum design is a big improvement over older models, and it’s up to three times as durable as an iPad (10th Generation). The tablet also has dual-band Wi-Fi 6 for faster and more stable internet connections.
Design
The Fire Max 11 is Amazon’s newest and largest tablet. It offers a sharper panel, a sleek design and a focus on productivity. It runs on Fire OS, which doesn’t have access to the Google Play Store, but it does come with a large selection of apps and supports Alexa, which allows you to control smart home devices and use the tablet in Show Mode.
The screen has a resolution of 2000 x 1200 and a 5:3 aspect ratio. It is also capable of displaying up to 500 nits of brightness. It comes with a 2.2GHz octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM, which should be enough for most tasks.
Users can transform the Fire Max 11 into a 2-in-1 detachable with the optional Keyboard Case and trackpad. The case offers customizable shortcut keys and a built-in stand for hands-free viewing and typing.
Price
Amazon’s Fire tablet lineup hasn’t had much of a chance to compete with the iPad in terms of market share, but the company hopes to change that with the new Fire Max 11. The slate uses a sleek aluminum design, ditches the cheap plastic, and is the lightest Fire device ever at just 1.08 pounds. It also boasts an 11-inch screen, low blue light technology, and powerful performance thanks to a 2.2GHz octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM.
Users can stream videos in HD or 4K resolution, make video calls using the front and rear 8MP cameras, take notes with the stylus that supports on-device handwriting recognition, and more. It’s available starting at $229 and includes 64GB of storage, making it competitively priced compared to rivals.
